My brother and I drove upstate today to our mother's cottage and on the way we called our sister, Colorado, who lives in Berkeley. We had a speakerphone chat with Cheyenne, her 5 year old daughter, who informed us that she has a new kitten named Rosa. Then she explained that the kitten was 'what's the word, it's not transsexual, it's trans-transgender.' very matter of factly in that way that five-year-olds can explain things. Then she told us she married the older very fat black cat Cleopatra.
